||MELVIN WINS AN HONORABLE MENTION IN CALIFORNIA|
The young Puerto Rican artist Melvin Martinez won another international recognition, this time in California.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the institution, the Museum of Latin American Art (MoLAA) organize their first international prize "Premios MoLAA". One hundred and thirty two artists of several Spanish and Portuguese regions (U.S.A., Mexico, Center and South America and the Caribbean region) participate of the event.
The jury was formed by Peter Frank critic and independent curator; Miki Garcia director of the Santa Barbara Contemporary Art Forum; Bill Kelley director of the art portal LatinArt.com and Christopher Miles critic, independent curator and professor of art theory of the California State University.
The jury select the winners of the nine prizes (total of $1000,000.00) and made their projection of which of the contemporary Latin American artists will become the next masters.
MoLAA Award Winners:
First Prize, Irene Pressner US$ 50,000
Second Prize, Manuel Ameztoy US$ 20,000
Third Prize, Victor Chab US$ 15,000
Fourth Prize, Andres Michelena US$ 5,000
Honorable Mentions: US$ 2,000 each

In the other hand, Melvin's schedule have been full of presentations and projects ever since he won the Castellon Painting Prize (Spain) (60,000 Euros). The next of this presentations will be in a collective exhibition that will take place at Yvon Lambert Gallery New York (Oct.-Nov.) This exhibition will be a tribute to Paul Cezanne and will feature the works of Nan Goldin, Vik Muñiz, Spencer Finch y Douglas Gordon among other international artists.
Melvin will also participate of the prestigious Art Cologne, Germany (Nov) and in the world famous and leading art fair Art Basel, Miami (Dic)
