Biography 
1974
Born in København (DK)
Jesper Just studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and graduated in 2003. He works primarily with video and centres his themes on the male social role. Just is strongly inspired by film as a medium: his works make use of an aesthetic, dramaturgic and narrative language which resembles that used in major Hollywood productions. This is of importance to our understanding of his videos, which we will obviously interpret in the light of familiar filmic clichés, the same clichés which he is consciously trying to puncture. Recently he has exhibited extensively around the world, including at the Nordic Festival of Contemporary Art, Momentum, in Norway, Midway Contemporary Art in St Paul, USA, the Maze Gallery in Torino, Casino Luxembourg in Luxembourg and at SparwasserHQ in Berlin.
