Born in Udine, UD (IT)
Afro Basaldella is between the maximums exponents of the Italian abstractionism. After the studies to Venice and Florence, it had attended in 1932 to Milan, with the brother Mirko, the study of Arthur Martini. From the 1934 it had been settled down to Rome. It participates to the vicissitudes of the roman tonalismo (with Rennets) that it interprets with accents of colorismo Veneto. The staff of 1936 to the gallery the Comet marks the apex of this phase.
